Systems Integration Layer

Systems Integration Layer

In Progress

Secure connections that let core systems share data without double entry.

Overview

The Systems Integration Layer connects the core systems the General Conference runs on, so a record entered in one place flows to the others that need it. Membership, finance, human resources, and collaboration tools exchange data through governed, monitored connections instead of exports and re-typing.

The Software Solutions team is building the layer around a small set of shared services and standard data formats, aligned with the Church Data Standards.

What the project delivers

  • Managed connections: secure, documented links between systems with access controls on each.

  • One record, many systems: key records synchronised so staff enter them once.

  • Monitoring: dashboards and alerts that show when a connection fails or data falls behind.

Timeline

  1. Map the flows: list the data each system exchanges today and how. Complete.

  2. Build the layer: stand up the shared services and the first connections. In progress.

  3. Connect: move the remaining exchanges onto the layer, one pair of systems at a time. Planned.

  4. Retire: switch off the manual exports and spreadsheets the layer replaces. Planned.
